School Events

Even a quick look at the school calendar will show that there are all types of school activities during the year. From the PTSA sponsored Family Fun Fest, all the way to the Week Without Walls, there are opportunities from the RIS community to celebrate and learn.

We have daily activities after school for students, from Chess and Art to Soccer and Judo. The events vary by semester, but there is usually something for everyone.

Family Fun Fest

Hosted by the Parent-Teacher-Student-Organzation, Family Fun Fest is a time for our RIS communitiy to come together for fellowship and fun.

Week without Walls

The objective of the WWW at Rio International School is to encourage students to appreciate other cultures and to become knowledgeable, active citizens of the world.  The RIS curriculum is dynamic in nature and in the scope of its offerings, but perhaps the aspect that gives our curriculum the most significance is what we teach beyond our walls. Though the Week without Walls, the world becomes the “classroom” where in students are engaged in service and experiential learning.

Sports

RIS offers a variety of sport options during the year as part of the after school program.

Arts

RIS is happt to be able to offer art as a regular part of the school program, as well as a varity of music opportunities. Drama is offered periodically through the year.
