Mrs. Amy Christenson Loureiro has been an educator for over fifteen years. She attended both North Park University (Undergraduate) and Loyola University Chicago (Graduate) where she studied English Literature, Education, and Educational Leadership. Mrs. Loureiro has been working at Rio International School since March of 2008. She loves the school and hopes to continue making a positive impact here through her new role as Head of School.

Formação Acadêmica :Pós- Graduação em Pedagogia : Supervisão Educacional e Administração escolar  em 1996, pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro(UFRJ) Graduada em Pedagogia : Supervisão Educacional e Administração Escolar- 1995, Faculdades Integradas São Judas TadeuGraduada em Letras Português e Literatura brasileira - 1984 - Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ)

Vida profissional e experiência: Concursada do Estado do Rio de Janeiro em 1984 e 1999; Supervisora Educacional da FAETEC - Secretaria de Ciência e Tecnologia - Rio de Janeiro, onde ainda trabalho.

Fui Diretora Técnica do Colégio Everest Bilingue( Antiga Escola Cumbres Bosque - católica); Diretora do Colégio Senhora da Pena, Supervisora da mesma escola e , e Professora nas Faculdades Integradas de Jacarepaguá ,durante 25 anos , onde aposentei-me; Professora  no Ensino Médio do Colégio Santa Mônica; Professora no Fundamental II do Colégio Bilingue Saint Patrick  no Recreio; Professora do Colégio e Curso ADN, no Ensino Médio e, Supervisora dessa mesma escola; Professora do Ensino Médio do Colégio CEDUC Jacarepaguá durante 13 anos.

Construi carreira em Escola durante toda vida profissional; trabalhei muitos anos em cada instituição aqui apresentada.Educação para mim é assunto sério. Aprendo todos os dias, trabalhando com adolescentes, jovens e adultos. Visito muitos lugares com palestras e capacitações relevantes e sempre muito benéficas. Meu idioma é educação de qualidade, com habilidades e competências bem trabalhadas. Fui apresentada, no presente ano, a mais um trabalho instigante e desafiador, o Rio International School.

 

viviane rabelo (Early childhood lead teacher)

Mrs. Viviane Carvalho Amarante Rabelo  has been an educator for 12 years and has been at RIS for the past 7 . She is Brazilian and speaks Portuguese, English and Spanish. Viviane loves to travel and enjoys meeting people from other countries and learning from them. She lived in Atlanta, Georgia for 6 months while studying English at Mercer University. Pedagogy at Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), People Management at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) and Educational Psychology at Universidade Cândido Mendes (UCAM).

 

rachel leir (primary lead teacher)

Racheal Leir has started her fifth year as an educator, and this will be her second year at RIS. Racheal attended college at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, majoring in Elementary Education. She completed her student teaching at Togher Girls National School, an all girls Catholic school in Ireland.  She is passionate about teaching, and enjoys being apart of the RIS family.

Mrs. Marcia Ferreira dos Santos Souza has been and educator for 16 years and has worked at RIS for the past 8 years. Prior to RIS Mrs. Souza worked for the British School of Rio and Everest. She is Brazilian and speaks Portuguese, English and speaks basic Spanish. Mrs. Souza just recently visited the United States to attend an AP Chemistry course at the University of South Florida. She received her education at Fundação T. E. Souza Marques: Bachelor's and Licentiate in Chemistry.

Mrs. Danielle Batista has been an educator for 21 years and has been with RIS for the past 12 years. She is a Brazilian and speaks both English and Portuguese. Mrs. Batista attended an AASSA conference in Bogota, Colombia. She received her education at Fundação Técnico-Educacional Souza Marques
